  • Measures of variability: range, inter-quartile range, and standard deviation
  • Analysis of competitive compensation positioning and HR policy effectiveness
  • The 2-Sigma Rule
  • Role of standard deviation in aiding in design and analysis of compensation

  • Linear regression computations and applications
  • Using linear regression to identify data outliers, assess internal equity, and evaluate external competitiveness

  • Using quantitative HR applications for compensation measurements

  • Six-step methodology for developing and implementing a linear regression model to create a base pay structure
