Jon Hyman is a nationally recognized employment lawyer and blogger. He provides proactive legal solutions to businesses’ workplace problems. Jon serves as outside labor and employment counsel for businesses to ensure compliance with myriad labor and employment laws, including drafting employment policies and agreements, auditing human resources practices, advising on day-to-day employment issues such as employee discipline and terminations, monitoring labor relations and implementing union avoidance strategies, conducting workplace investigations, drafting and reviewing affirmative action plans and otherwise assisting with OFCCP compliance for federal contractors, and assisting companies with their technology and cyber-security compliance.
Jon also represents businesses in employment and labor disputes in litigation matters including wage-and-hour class action certification, discrimination and retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, trade secrets theft, and breaches of noncompetition agreements.
Jon authors the award winning Ohio Employer Law Blog, which the American Bar Association inducted into its Blawg Hall of Fame. He has also authored two books, Think Before You Click, and The Employer Bill of Rights. Jon offers his insight as a member of Workforce Magazine’s editorial advisory board. He is also an in-demand speaker on employment law, appearing in The Wall Street Journal, and on NPR and John Stossel’s Fox Business television show. Jon also appeared on a November 1999 episode of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”, but, sadly, lacked the fastest fingers.
When he’s not helping employers, he works as a volunteer roadie for his children’s burgeoning rock ‘n’ roll careers.
